Tess Barker
Tess enjoyed painting as a child but only really got the time to actually get stuck into painting during Covid 19.
Tess grew up on a farm and was horse mad and that was what she would draw and paint as a child.
During Covid Tess was stuck for a birthday present for a friend and decided to do a portrait of their beloved cat.
One thing led to another and she has been doing horse and pet portraits on and off since.
Whilst down in Portarlington, Tess attended some water colour classes with Sally Cant who helped a lot with technique and trying not to overwork paintings (which Tess s afraid she still does).
Tess also paints in acrylics and uses some reference photos of her cousin's polo cross horses to try and inject some movement into her work.
