EXHBITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

PRICING AND PAYMENTS 

All fees are non-refundable. 

The Entry Fee is $5 per standard artwork and $10 for approved oversize pieces.

Programs listing the entering artists, their work and pricing is available to refer to whilst visiting.

Payments can be made by bank transfer/direct deposit BSB 633 000 A/C No. 195 257 142. 

  

ENTRY PROCEDURE 

Artwork may be entered for DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION via:
email: dindiopenstudios@gmail.com, website: dindiopenstudios.com.au, by post: PO Box 35 Kinglake 3763 or in person by arrangement with Julie van der Eynden, 0408 552 432.

Please use the entry form provided by DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION to ensure all information has been provided.

Payments can be made by bank transfer/direct deposit BSB 633 000 A/C No. 195 257 142.

Please provide a photo by email of each artwork entered at the time of entering. 

​

Please fill out the ARTWORK INFORMATION LABEL which is available on the website or by EMAIL.
Affix each label securely to the back of each 2D piece or base of your 3D artwork prior to submission.

The artist may provide a short artist’s statement for each artwork submitted, approximately 70 words if mounted and ready to display with the artwork.

AGREEMENTS

Upon delivery, follow the instructions of the receiving volunteers to ensure artwork is recorded accurately.

 

Upon entering your artwork in DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION, artists will be required to read the EXHIBITION LOAN AGREEMENT and the EXHIBITION AGREEMENT for this event and are required to comply to the full TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

 

Entrants will be required to sign the EXHIBITION AGREEMENT and the EXHIBITION LOAN AGREEMENT forms upon delivery of artwork. Exhibition organizers will have copies available and will ask you to sign a copy in front of a witness, when you deliver your work for DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP OF ARTWORK

Artists are personally responsible for the delivery of their artwork to Ellimatta, 94 Whittlesea-Kinglake Road, Kinglake Friday 29 August between 12.00pm and 6.00pm; and to collect their artwork at the end of the exhibition Sunday 31 August between 4.15 and 5.45pm.
If you need to make an alternative arrangement, please call Julie van der Eynden on 0408 552 432. 

 

SUBMISSIONS

Artworks must have the ARTWORK INFORMATION LABEL affixed securely to the back of each 2D piece or base of your 3D artwork prior to submission.

Thursday 16 November — 12.00pm to 6.00pm. No late artworks will be accepted.

LATE SUBMISSIONS

We are unable to accept late submissions.

COLLECTION PROCEDURE 

All artworks must be collected from DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION Sunday 19 November between 4.15pm and 5.45pm. Please follow the instructions of the organisers at this time to ensure safe receipt of your artwork.

 

DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION does not have the facilities to store or protect any uncollected artworks. 

All artworks must be vacated from the Ellimatta, 94 Whittlesea-Kinglake Road, Kinglake by the end of the collection period. 

DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION will not be held responsible for the security or storage of artworks that are not collected at the end of the exhibition. 

Please note artworks cannot by stored by DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION.

The purchaser and the artist will be required to collect artworks during the specified collection times personally. Artworks may only be collected by an appointed person when previously arranged and the artist/purchaser must provide DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION with an alternative contact person prior to the collection date/time. 

DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION is not responsible for, and are unable to, organize couriers for pick up. 

 

INSURANCE 

It is strongly recommended that suitable insurance covers be enacted by the artist for the duration of the event. DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION is not responsible for any work not delivered to or picked up from Ellimatta, 94 Whittlesea-Kinglake Road, Kinglake.

Whilst all possible care for the safe handling and display of artwork will be exercised by DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION all entries are submitted at the total risk of the artist. DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION assumes no responsibility for artwork damaged upon receipt, whilst being displayed or during return. 

DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION is not deemed responsible or any loss, theft or damage to the artworks whilst in its possession or on display from the date of delivery to the date of collection. 

 

INDEMNITY AGREEMENT 

The artist agrees to hold DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION staff and volunteers blameless for any damage, theft or loss of artwork. The artist understands and accepts the risk of submitting/sending/displaying artwork. 

 

TITLE AND COPYRIGHT 

The Artist states that he/she created the artwork, and that it is their original work. 

No artwork is to be a copy of another artist’s work and must not violate that artist’s copyright. 

The EXHIBITION AGREEMENT or the EXHIBITION LOAN AGREEMENT is not intended to, nor does it transfer any rights of title or copyright to DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION.

RIGHT OF REFUSAL 

DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION reserves the right to refuse entry to any artist and their submission of artworks at any time at its discretion. 

DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION reserves the right to refuse to display the artwork of artists who fail to sign a copy of the

EXHIBITION AGREEMENT or the EXHIBITION LOAN AGREEMENT.

 

DISPLAY 

All art works must remain on display for the full duration of the DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION. 

Exhibits must be presented ready for hanging/display. 2D art should be fitted with appropriate hanging wire or heavy-duty cord. 

3D ART must have a stable base. Any additional props/supports required should be discussed with the curator prior to submission. 

Unusually fragile pieces must be submitted in a condition enabling them to be easily handled. 

Works portraying abuse, pornographic images and general disrespect will not be accepted. 

Nudes will only be accepted at the discretion of the Curator/Director. 

Submitted work should not exceed 1 meter square (including framing). 

Pieces that are non-standard size may be accepted only by prior negotiation. 

Multiple panel artworks such as diptych, tripdich, sets with multiple pieces, etc, are considered as one work and will not be sized, displayed or sold separately. 

DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION reserves the right to limit the number of exhibits. 

 

PROMOTION 

DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION will provide a catalogue containing all artwork entries including the names and relevant details of the exhibitors.

DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION does not accept any responsibility for error, inaccurate descriptions, omissions or any other defect in the publication of on-line or printable material. 

Artists authorise DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION to use and publish information pertaining to the artworks for the purposes of producing a catalogue or otherwise promoting the event by any means including social media, with due acknowledgement to the artist. See EXHIBITION AGREEMENT and EXHIBITION LOAN AGREEMENT. 

DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION reserves the right to reproduce images of the artworks for promotional and display purposes. 

Artists must notify DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION in writing prior to the exhibition if they do not wish images of their artwork to be used for exhibition publicity online, or in print or publication. 

Artists may wish to provide a short biography which may be used to provide additional information about the artist and compliment their artwork. 

​

ARTWORK SALES 

Artworks submitted to DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION may be for sale but the artist must be available to negotiate the purchase as the organisers will not have the facilities or capacity to assist with this. 

Artworks exhibited in DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION are available to purchase throughout the event and up to 10 days post event dates. DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION does not require a commission but will gratefully accept a 10% donation for each artwork sold as a result of the exhibition. 

 

ARBITRATION 

In the event a dispute arises under the EXHIBITION AGREEMENT or the EXHIBITION LOAN AGREEMENT, the parties will aim to arrive at a satisfactory solution. 

Failing agreement, the dispute shall be submitted to an arbitrator agreed to by the parties. 

Any decision by the arbitrator shall be final and binding upon both parties. 

 

AMENDMENTS 

The EXHIBITION AGREEMENT or the EXHIBITION LOAN AGREEMENT may be amended, waived, discharged, modified or terminated only in writing, signed by both parties and attached to this agreement. 

 

DURATION 

This EXHIBITION AGREEMENT or the EXHIBITION LOAN AGREEMENT shall commence upon the date of signing.

ARTWORK PURCHASES

When you purchase an artwork, you are supporting the artist and also assisting the promotion of art across the Kinglake Ranges. Artworks exhibited in DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION are available to purchase throughout the event and up to 10 days post event dates. Any artwork purchased must be negotiated directly with the artist as the organisers do not have the facilities or capacity to assist with this.

 

INDEMNITY FOR PURCHASES

Purchasers agree that DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION acts solely as an agent for the artist.
The artist is responsible for their art practices and use of materials.
The purchaser of any artwork agrees and acknowledges that DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION has no control of, or liability for, the condition of the artwork or for the quality should any concerns arise with respect to any artwork.
Liability vests solely in the artist and not DINDI OPEN STUDIOS EXHIBITION .
