Marg Darbyshire
Born in Colac Victoria, grew up in Geelong then to Box Hill, where I married and settled in Croydon.
Discovering it was a more rural lifestyle that we were after we moved to the Yarra Valley were we set up a successful Australian Native Plant nursery. It was around this time that creativity in landscape painting was nurtured by two local artists who passed on their knowledge to me which helped to develop my own painting style.
Some eight years ago we decided to move to the Goulburn Valley and settled in Wunghnu. With no nursery to run and time to fill I came across Glenda Cornell at the Cockatoo Island retreat. This was the perfect place for me to continue in indulging in my favourtie pastime.
Art window displays were held in Nathalia annually and resulted in sales being made to travelers holidaying around Australia and some from overseas, all interested in our flora and fauna.
Coming back to be nearer to family, and having extensive surgery, I am now only being able to get back to spending more time painting which I enjoy.
